Morning Madness

April 18, 2012/ Breakfast/ 2 comments

For most of my life, I was anything but a morning person. My first year of college I never had to get out of bed before 9am. Oh the good old days…

Now the alarm sounds bright (I wish it were brighter actually) and early at 6am and from then on, I don’t have a second to spare. Snooze button=not an option.

I dragged myself to the gym this morning, which luckily for my time crunch is only five minutes from my house. Somehow through my sleepy haze I manage to get a weight set in, although some mornings I question how well I’m actually doing it. But that’s the give with morning work outs. They’re probably not your best. I chose to work out in the morning because I know my chances of consistently making it to the gym later are pretty slim. Any work out is better than no work out so mornings it is!

Back home, I dealt with the shower issues as best I could.

It took me a bit to figure out which way to turn for hot water and sadly ended up taking a luke warm shower but at least it was a shower this time. The sink rat looking isn’t something that needed to continue.

For breakfast I was fully intending to make a cereal and fruit bowl but the luke warm shower left me craving something warm. And since yesterday’s peanut butter and banana combo was so good, I decided to give the multigrain oatmeal another try.

To make it thicker, I made it with milk instead of water today. I usually use water to save calories and I think I will continue to. The milk made no difference in taste and texture to me.

Love the peanut butter and banana
toppers. I may have gone a little overboard.

Can’t even really see the oats under there but that’s fine because the bananas and peanut butter are the real stars.

Off to work!

Anni didn’t want to see me go.
